Braodband Internet arrives in Macclesfield
As of August 2001 Asymetric Digital Subsciber Line (ADSL) or Broadband Internet as it is more commonly known became available in Macclesfield.
ADSL is the first variant of a range of DSL technologies that will be delivered across the country in the coming years effectively enabling the Internet as a usable business tool for many small to medium sized companies.
The major benefits of ADSL are price/performance and the fact that it is permanently connected.
Restore Computer Services had their ADSL Line installed on the 8th September 2001 and we were told by the BT engineer that we were the first ADSL installation he had done in Macclesfield
We will be closely monitoring our ADSL installation for performance and reliability and will be providing updates on this site
2nd October - ADSL Router stopped responding - Power Cycled Router came up OK
9th October - ADSL Router Stopped responding - Power cycled router still not responding - reported fault to demon system eventually came back after 3 hours fault apparently at BT exchange in Edinburgh.
20th November - 10:18 ADSL service down, - BT report major network failure affecting all ADSL customers - System back on line approx 15:00
